Prussian Nights
Dorota Nieznalska

In 1944, the Red Army entered East Prussia in order to chase Germans away and take over their territory. Alexander Solzhenitsyn accompanied this event as a journalist. After a few years, he described his experiences and emotions from the standpoint of an insightful observer of reality. The narrative poem entitled „Prussian Nights“ is a moving documentation of the ruthlessness, barbarity and the violence of the Red Army in relation to the women, children, and old people living there.

(Prussian nights - A film based of fragments of the narrative poem of the same title by Aleksander Solzhenitsyn. Black and white film with sound, with music by Alexandrov‘s Choir, song: Sacred War, Choir of the Red Army, Warszawianka.)
